News Producers (Two Open Spots)
WPSD LOCAL 6, the dominant legacy NBC affiliate in Paducah, Kentucky (84th DMA), requires a dynamic writer with solid news judgment who can become a leader in our newsroom. You must have a flair for production values, showcasing meaningful breaking news, live elements, social/interactive media platforms, and vibrant graphics to tell compelling news stories. You also love helping reporters craft extraordinary work. If you are on the road to news management, this is where it starts. Previous experience as a producer preferred. We will consider entry level candidates. We have two open spots. The right candidate can move in to a Monday-Friday prime newscast. Content Producers
WPSD Local 6 and The Paducah Sun are hiring content producers for our publications and platforms.
WPSD is the NBC affiliate in Paducah, KY. The Paducah Sun is a daily newspaper published since 1896. Both media companies are owned by the Paxton Family, now in its fifth generation of leadership.
While working with us you will be able to produce content for our newspaper, television newscasts, websites, digital and social media platforms, and our monthly magazine.
If you’re tired of the BIG corporate media farms, then talk with us about continuing your career growth at a media group that produces award-winning local journalism. We have expanded our outreach to all college degrees, not just journalism. We desire creative and curious thinkers. You should know how to write active-voice sentences, be able to ask questions that enables your reporting to discover the effects of events and speak truth to power.
