This position maintains landscaped areas at City-owned golf courses. Duties and responsibilities include planting and maintaining trees, plants, and flowers; watering; mowing; trimming; fertilizing; planning landscape projects; removing debris; and maintaining related logs/records and preparing reports.
DUTIES: Leads in the maintenance of landscaped areas, including watering, weeding, mowing, pruning, and fertilizing. Operates various tools and equipment such as small gardening tools, lawnmowers, tractors, trucks, rakes, garden tillers, or shovels in compliance with departmental safety regulations. Assists in the landscape designing of City property, and the planting of trees, plants, and flowers; plans, organizes, and purchases plant materials and supplies. Participates in the daily maintenance of golf course grounds including mowing, string trimming, bunker maintenance, and other assigned tasks. Serves as lead worker with assigned personnel and maintains a record of hours worked. Performs clerical tasks such as completing work orders, maintaining logs/records, and preparing routine reports.
REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma, GED, or vocational school, with one year of grounds keeping/landscape experience (or related) required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Requires valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain Pesticide Applicator’s License within the first 12 months.
SALARY: Grade 111; $33,449/yr. ($16.08/hr.), plus a full benefit package
WORK HOURS: 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (depending on season) with occasional overtime expected.

This position leads in performing a variety of grounds maintenance tasks for the assigned area. Duties and
responsibilities include operating equipment, such as dump trucks, tractors, mowers, or backhoes in the
maintenance, cleaning, and repairing of assigned grounds, facilities, and equipment.
DUTIES: Operates equipment such as dump trucks, tractors, mowers, and various hand tools in compliance
with departmental safety regulations to perform grounds and facility maintenance. Oversees seasonal
maintenance crew. Oversees installation, inspection, and repair of playground and recreational equipment in
parks. Leads in the performance of maintenance and construction duties including routine repairs such as
plumbing, general carpentry work, minor electrical, welding, or small engine or irrigation repairs. Monitors
and assists with custodial duties for assigned areas, such as cleaning restrooms and shelters, or picking up and
disposing of trash. Assists with the repair of turf areas, sports fields, playgrounds, irrigation, shelters, mowing
equipment, etc. Acts as mowing crew leader; mows and maintains various parks on a weekly schedule.
Maintains records of activities and prepares routine reports as required.
REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma (or GED) and one year of vocational school education, with one to
two years of experience operating light and medium equipment (or related) and supervisory experience required;
or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge,
skills, and abilities for this position. Must possess or be able to obtain within one year of employment all of the
following certifications and licenses: a valid Kentucky Commercial Driver’s License, Certified Playground
Safety Inspector, and KY State Pesticide Applicators License.
SALARY: Pay Grade 113; $36,878 ($17.72/hour), plus full benefits package
WORK HOURS: Weekdays 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.; overtime and weekend work required
