Position Description:

I. POSITION TITLE: In-Home Direct Service Provider, Direct Supervisor: Program Director

II. CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

III. OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB (PURPOSE):

To increase the strength and stability of families, to prevent child abuse/neglect thereby keeping children safely in their homes, and to keep families from becoming involved with the Cabinet due to abuse or neglect. This is in line with the federal Adoption and Safe Families Act (ASFA), passed in 1997, which requires all agencies involved in the protection of children to focus exclusively on service the “best interest of the child.”

IV. Duties include but not limited to:

  1. Maintain an active caseload of no more than 10 families at any given time.
  2. Have a passion for working to improve the lives of children and families.
  3. Ability to maintain a professional therapeutic relationship with those families you serve.
  4. Provide in-home services for a minimum of twelve weeks with services individualized to the needs of the children and family.
  5. Provide parent education utilizing a research/evidence-based parenting curriculum.
  6. Provide case management services utilizing best practices.
  7. Set goals with the families, provide assessments, develop an aftercare plan, and document all activities as well as input data into the Cabinets data collection system.
  8. Provide a client satisfaction survey to all families at the end of service delivery.
  9. Attend all mandated training, participate in any required activities such as Child Abuse Prevention month and follow program and contract guidelines.

 

IV. REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must drive and possess a valid driver’s license, drive a vehicle, and have reliable transportation.
  2. Must be willing to travel i.e., home visits, trainings, conferences, etc.
  3. Perform home visits to varied terrain and housing conditions.
  4. Must be 21 years of age.
  5. Submit to a Criminal Records Check, Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN), Motor Vehicle Check
  6. Submit to drug and alcohol testing.
  7. Must live in the ten (10) county service area.

 

VI. EDUCATION: Hold a bachelor’s degree in human services area or related field.
