Public Works Department: Building Maintenance Mechanic

The purpose of this position is to serve as lead worker in repairing and maintaining City buildings.
DUTIES: Making repairs and inspecting assigned buildings, grounds, and parking lots; coordinating with vendors for electrical, plumbing, and HVAC repairs; maintaining equipment and supplies; planning and procuring maintenance contracts; ensuring building compliance with safety regulations; monitoring expenditures; purchasing materials and services; emergency planning; and preparing related paperwork and reports.
REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma, GED, or specialized vocational training, with at least three years of experience in building maintenance and facilities management duties required; including working with various electrical, plumbing and equipment maintenance/repair; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Requires the ability to use computer and work order software to open, update, and close work orders.
SALARY: Pay Grade 115; $43,301/annually, $20.82/hourly; plus full benefits package
WORK HOURS: 40 hours/week typically weekdays; responds to calls for emergency repair/maintenance as needed including nights and weekends.
