Job Description: Provides support to the assigned recreational area. Duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to teaching fitness classes, providing customer service, assisting with fitness events/activities, assisting members with their fitness programs, leading /supervising assigned personnel, maintaining fitness facility/equipment, and or monitoring members.
DUTIES: Instruct individuals and classes in fitness techniques using available equipment and planned programs. Instruction is offered to children, senior citizens, and special populations. Maintains fitness records, plans fitness programs, monitors safe usage of machines, assists in staff training, and teaches classes/activities related to fitness as needed.
REQUIREMENTS: First Aid & CPR certification required (or ability to obtain certification within the first month of hire) with six months to one-year experience instructing various types of fitness programs, should have a general working knowledge of fitness equipment and fitness activities/programs or any combination of education training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Must be able to lift 100 lbs. +; Age 18+.
SALARY: Pay Grade 20; $13.75 per hour; plus, sick and vacation leave WORK HOURS: 15 hours per week; works mostly evenings and weekend hours required
