CHILDREN’S MINISTRY LEADER, ELK HORN BAPTIST CHURCH, CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY
Elk Horn Baptist Church is searching for a Full-time Leader to provide vision and leadership for the Children’s Ministry program for children from infant through 5th grade in a safe, loving, and nurturing environment. The Director will build strong Christian relationships by effectively partnering with parents, Pastors, staff, Children’s Ministry Committee, and volunteers to ensure all programs align with the overall vision of the church. The Children’s Director will be passionate about sharing the love of Jesus Christ to all who are involved in the Children’s ministry.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS:
- Confess and trust Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
- Have a loving knowledge of scripture as the inspired Word of God, and its application to children and families.
- Is faithful in prayer and can communicate its importance to children and families.
- Preferably have an educational background in Christian Ministries, Biblical Studies, or a related field.
- Have a passion for ministry to children and a desire to see both parents and children grow in their faith.
- Have a continual growing relationship with Jesus Christ evidenced by action, attitude, and behavior.
- Have the ability to fully embrace the vision, values, and statement of faith of Elk Horn Baptist Church.
- Be reliable, trustworthy, self-motivated, and excellent at following through on details.
- Possess the ability to use appropriate judgment, discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES OVERVIEW:
- Responsible for the oversight and leadership of all children’s ministries, birth through fifth grade, which include but are not limited to: Sunday School, Wednesday Night Ministries, Wednesday Night Van Ministry (Drivers, Route Coordination, Pick-ups and drop off) Children’s Church, Nursery, Special Events, Vacation Bible School and/or Children’s Camp, Easter, and Christmas Programs.
- Develop new programs that benefit both children and their parents (ex. Mother’s Day Out, Children’s Choir, Community Outreach etc.)
- Effectively use technology in bringing the Gospel to children and their families by possessing a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, and other tools, as necessary.
- Be available to counsel and pray with children and parents regarding spiritual matters.
- Coordinate family events and/or camps for parents and families.
- Full time Children’s Minister schedule includes office hours, Wednesday evening and Sunday planning, preparation, and programs, with flexibility for yearly activities (i.e., Fun Zone, Summer Camp, etc.) with 40 hours per week being customary.
