Josh Pickens, a newly employed associate professor of art at Campbellsville University, will be the first guest artist at the Pence-Chowning Art Gallery Aug. 24-Sept. 10.
A reception for him will be Thursday, Sept. 2 from 4:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. with a brief gallery talk at 5 p.m.
Pickens’ exhibit, titled “Acetylsalicylic Acid,” consists of functional pottery that is coil-built. Coil-building is the process by which ropes, or coils, of clay are stacked on top of one another and then blended together. Everyone is welcome.
