CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University’s Kentucky Heartland Institute on Public Policy (KHIPP) will present Tabitha Scott Crawford, senior vice president of sustainability and innovation at Balfour Beatty Investments, speaking at a KHIPP symposium at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, following a 10 a.m. chapel presentation.
Crawford’s address in the Ransdell Chapel at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville, and the symposium at the Banquet Hall in the Badgett Academic Support Center, 110 University Drive, Campbellsville, are both open to the public free of charge.

Crawford is a certified energy manager, a certified demand side manager, an international advisor on sustainability and innovation, and a former contributor to the U.S. Presidential Climate Action Plan as well as the Energy Encyclopedia of Engineering and Technology textbooks.
Dr. John Chowning, vice president for church and external relations and executive assistant to the president, invites the public to the events to learn about the important topic of climate change.
“Ms. Crawford is an important speaker and is an international advisor on climate change. We are honored to have her and also to have our faculty present during the symposium at 2 p.m.,” he said.
The 2 p.m. symposium will consist of presentation by Crawford with responses from CU’s science department, the School of Business and Economics and School of Theology with questions and answers with a panel.
Participating in the symposium from CU will be Dr. J. Dwayne Howell, professor of Old Testament and Hebrew, representing the School of Theology; Dr. Richie Kessler, associate professor of biology/environmental studies program coordinator, representing the Division of Natural Science; and Dr. Sunny Onyiri, professor of business and accounting.
Crawford was most recently president of Rayan Solutions, a multi-service energy consulting company that served both public and private sector clients. Prior to forming Rayan Solutions, Crawford spent four years as SVP sustainability and innovation for Actus Lend Lease.
She is responsible for the creation of “SYNERGY™” an award winning grassroots technology, conservation and employee education program that is included in the Mayoral Climate Protection Manual distributed to 700 cities globally.
Formerly CEO of Military Assistance Company, Crawford created the first private technology link into the Department of Defense payroll systems for the Military Housing Privatization Initiative.
She was a member of the prestigious National Automated Clearing House Association’s Government Advisory Board, the Military Comptrollers Society, the Graduate School of Retail Bank Management Faculty and a practitioner faculty adviser for the Institute of Sustainable Development at Lipscomb University.
She holds a bachelor of science in business administration from the University of Louisville, an MBA from Fairfield University, and a master’s in bank management from CBA’s Graduate School of Retail Bank Management held at the University of Virginia.
