CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University’s Fourth Annual Noon Organ Recital Series opens Tuesday, Sept. 6 with a performance by Nevalyn Moore, faculty emerita at CU, at 12:20 p.m. in the Ransdell Chapel at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville.
She will be playing works by Marcello, Boellmann, Peeters, David N. Johnson and Albert Travis.
The recital is free and open to the public. It will end at 12:50 p.m.

Moore will play on the 1894 Farrand and Votey Pipe Organ that was enlarged and rebuilt by Moller, Pilcher and Milnar Organ Companies. It has three manuals, pedalboard and 51 ranks.
Dr. Wesley Roberts, professor of music, said the series is designed to “provide an opportunity for those in the community to hear outstanding organists and our prized instrument in short concert programs during their lunch break.”
Moore, a native of Ellisville, Miss., taught on the Campbellsville University School of Music faculty for 28 years. Moore has presented piano, organ, and handbell workshops, has served as an adjudicator for festivals and competitions, and has served as a church organist in Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, Alabama and Mississippi.
Moore was selected as the 2002 Kentucky Music Educators Association College/University Teacher of the Year. She was the recipient of the 2002 Campbellsville University Academic Excellence Award and the 2007-2008 Faculty Servant Leadership Award.
Moore received a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Judson College in Alabama, and a Master of Music in Organ Performance from the University of Mississippi. In addition, she studied at Florida State University, the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Westminster Choir College.
Moore and her husband, Dr. Jim Moore, professor of music at Campbellsville University, have five children and five grandchildren.
Other events scheduled for the Fourth Annual Noon Organ Recital Series include: Oct. 4 – Rodney Barbour, director of worship and arts, Crestview Presbyterian Church in Cincinnati, Ohio; Nov. 8 – Robert Bozeman, Canon musician and organist, Christ Church Cathedral in Louisville;
Feb. 21, 2012 — Shiloh Roby, associate director of music at Christ Church Cathedral in Cincinnati; March 13 – Maria LeRose-Hendron, Campbellsville, doctor of musical arts student at the University of Kentucky; and April 17 – Dr. Wesley Roberts, professor of music at Campbellsville University, with other faculty from the School of Music at CU.
