Dr. Robin Magruder joined the Campbellsville University School of Education faculty in 2013. She currently serves as an associate professor of education and undergraduate chair. Prior to joining the faculty at CU, she was a math and science teacher for 12 years. She taught third through tenth grade math and science in public and private schools in Jefferson and Nelson counties in Kentucky. She also served as an adjunct instructor for Indiana Wesleyan University and the University of Kentucky. She is a certified environmental educator in the state of Kentucky.

Dr. Magruder’s research areas include mathematics education and social emotional learning. She is currently researching how preservice teachers learn about social emotional learning. Additionally, she is researching how preservice teachers benefit from peer feedback in math and science.

Dr. Magruder serves the university as the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) chair and is a former Faculty Forum chair (2020-2021). She was honored to receive the Distinguished Faculty Award from the Campbellsville University Board of Trustees in 2019. She also earned the Campbellsville University Earth Stewardship Award in 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2021.

As a member of the global experience committee for the School of Education, Dr. Magruder co-planned and co-led student trips to Belize (2016), the United Kingdom (2019), and is taking a group of students to Italy and Greece in summer 2022.

Dr. Magruder has been published in the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics journal, Teaching Children Mathematics, and the National Science Teacher’s Association journal, Science and Children. She has presented her research in regional, national, and international conferences. She was a lead paper presenter at the Africa Education 2030 Agenda International Education Conference, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. June 2018
