Teacher Leader Master of Arts in Education

The Teacher Leader Master of Arts in Education (TL-MAE) program is a 30-hour, cohort model program.  The academic year is devoted to the completion of the core curriculum courses.  The overall structure of the TL-MAE program provides opportunities for individual and team participation while studying leadership, curriculum, design and instructional strategies.  Action research within the teacher's own classroom is required.  Emphasis is placed on individual development of the teacher/student.  An action research paper over the period of the TL-MAE program is developed with accompanying periodic performance assessments.  All courses are offered in an online format.

The core curriculum comprises 18 hours of course work.  The remaining 12 hours may be taken in a variety of options.  These options may be discussed with Dr. Lisa Allen lsallen@campbellsville.edu 270.789.5506 (w) or 502.507.1523 (cell) Graduate Program Chair.  Some areas include:

Admission Requirements

  • Admission to Graduate Studies
  • Valid Teacher's Certificate or Statement of Eligibility
  • Official Transcripts (Required GPA:  2.75)
  • One-page essay on purpose/goals for graduate study
  • Three disposition recommendations
  • Diversity Survey
  • Code of Ethics/Character and Fitness
  • State background check (if not currently teaching) 
  • Statement of Acknowledgement
  • Signed Curriculum Contract
