Center for International Education Internship


The Center for International Education is seeking an internationally-minded sophomore, junior or senior for a paid internship position in the CIE office.

Job Description:

This position is open to students in any major but geared towards individuals considering a career in International Education or related field. The intern will gain detailed experience by individually assisting each CIE professional staff member in the operations of the office.

Candidate must be highly motivated and prepared to absorb a great deal of information concerning immigration regulations, study abroad advising, cross-cultural adjustment theory, int’l health and safety protocol, etc. Candidate should expect to weekly take home articles, references, professional journals, etc that are relevant to the field and office operations.

Preference will be given to students who have:

  • the ability to handle multiple tasks,
  • the ability to work professionally with foreign and domestic students, international recruiting agents, foreign faculty and administrators, etc.
  • international travel or study abroad experience,
  • a proven interest in international affairs or working with international students, 
  • knowledge of (or are currently studying) a foreign language

Applicants should expect:

  • to work 15 to 20 hours per week,
  • to immediately obtain CU van certification,
  • to process/file federal immigration records according to federal standards, 
  •  overnight travel (up to 2 nights at CIE expense) may be possible for regional international student excursions or professional conferences.

The internship schedule follows the academic semester schedules - from the first day through the last day of each term.
