Title: Human Resources Assistant, Full TimePosition #:193962 Location: Louisville, KY
Performs a variety of clerical support work for the Human Resources department including maintaining filing; Photocopying and scanning records, correspondence, forms, lists, logs, etc. that are necessary for efficient operations of the department; answers the telephone and provides general information regarding the department operations and/or services; performs all activities regarding the processing of incoming/outgoing mail as requested; orders supplies and prepares check requests; review and prepare personnel forms for processing through the Divisional Finance Board; Performing some data entry functions.
A minimum of six months experience as an Administrative Assistant, Human Resources Clerk or Assistant, or related position involving multiple responsibilities. Requires prior technical experience including Microsoft programs, especially Microsoft Excel & any Human Resource Information system (HRIS).
Qualified candidates must have the following Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Ability to operate various general office equipment including a computer, photocopy machine, scanner, fax machine, calculator; Ability to file paperwork and maintain an efficient and organized filing system to ensure that items can be retrieved in a timely manner; Ability to answer the telephone in a courteous and tactful manner; Ability to use various computer software including MS Office-Word, Excel, E-mail and PowerPoint; Ability to maintain the confidential nature of the department; Ability to compose documents and letters; Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language; Ability to perform mathematical calculations; Ability to type on the computer, and enter data; Ability to sort and file documents alphabetically and numerically; Ability to input data in the payroll system and other systems used within the department; Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (up to 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
Associates degree from an accredited college or university preferably in Human Resources, Business or related field.
High School Diploma OR G.E.D. will be considered for those with one year of experience in a Human Resources Office OR Department.
