Honor Society

Alpha Theta Mu/Pi Sigma Alpha

Alpha Theta Mu is the local chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, is the only national honor society for political science.  Students do not need to be political science majors but they must meet academic eligibility requirements in order to join.

Students may join the organization at one of two levels.  To join the local chapter, a student must complete at least six hours of political science with a grade of B or better.  To join the national organization, and receive the benefits of membership, students must complete at least 10 hours of political science with a B average AND be in the top 1/3 of their class.

Students who join the local or national organization get to participate in PSA events, including trips and speakers visits.  Members of the national chapter receive additional benefits, including discounts on graduate entrance exams and the wearing of honor cords and medallions during graduation.

Students interested in joining Pi Sigma Alpha should contact the club advisor, Dr. Shawn Williams.
