Location: Paducah, Kentucky. McCracken County is located in Western Kentucky. The Extension Agent for Agriculture & Natural Resources will provide leadership for educational programs in agriculture and natural resources for McCracken County. The Agent responsibilities include: (1) utilize and/or develop councils, advisory groups, and committees to facilitate community involvement in programming; (2) develop agricultural expertise of local citizens through educational programs; (3) develop field trails, test demonstrations and result demonstrations in areas related to agricultural production and natural resources; (4) jointly share responsibility in community programming around issues involving leadership development, community involvement, local government, community services and other forms of community economic development. Emphasis on corn, soybeans and diversified agriculture.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing with groups, individuals and through mass media. Ability to use the computer for program delivery and management.
Ability to visit clientele at sites throughout the county.
Demonstrated leadership and ability to serve as a positive role model in the community.
Preferred Education / Experience
Experience in designing, promoting, implementing and evaluating educational programs.
Commitment to working with adults and youth from various ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
