Late Tony Grider to be honored Sept. 11

Tony Grider’s name will officially become part of the Johnny Edrington Memorial in Campbellsville’s Miller Park during a special ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11. Grider, 41, a captain with the Campbellsville Fire Department, died on Sept. 20 of last year following an accident about a month earlier at Campbellsville University on Aug. 21. During that accident, Grider and other firefighters were injured when a ladder truck came into close proximity to a high-voltage power line during an ALS Bucket Challenge involving the Campbellsville University Marching Band. Members of the band will perform at the event which is open to the public. The Johnny Edrington Memorial honors Kentucky State Trooper Johnny Edrington who was killed in the line of duty on Dec. 21, 1988. Read the story at

General studies tutor needed

PRSSA organizational meeting

The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) will have an organizational meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10 in room 108 of Carter Hall. The meeting is open to public relations and communication students, but not strictly for these majors. Business and marketing students are also invited. The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is the foremost organization for students interested in public relations and communications. Operation Christmas Child Resource Fair is Sept. 17

Operation Christmas Child will have a Child Resource Fair at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17 in the Banquet Hall.  Anyone in the community (including students) who is interested in collecting shoe boxes for OCC is invited.  The fair will provide information and resources for shoebox packers.  A flier with information regarding the event is attached.

Information meeting on trip to Italy
