Suicide prevention seminar

A training concerning suicide prevention called “QPR (Question, Persuade and Refer) Training" will be on CU’s campus Thursday, Aug. 14 from 9 a.m. until noon in the Banquet Hall of the Badgett Academic Support Center. Faculty and staff are welcome to attend, and having faculty and staff who are, at a minimum, skilled at questioning, persuading and referring those with suicidal thoughts is a wonderful thing, according to Rebecca Price, clinical counselor. She invites all faculty and staff to attend the session with the Kentucky Center for School Safety that has partnered with the Kentucky Division of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and the Kentucky Suicide Prevention Group. This is a state model for suicide prevention. See the attached flier for more information.
