Students from Pakistan on campus today; please make them welcome
The Center for International Education (CIE) would like to make you aware of a few students who arrived on our campus today. We have the opportunity to host six U.S. government sponsored students this year. These students have undergone a rigorous scholarship process in their home countries and have beat out thousands of other applicants for a scholarship to study for a year in the U.S. This program is sponsored by our government to help promote cultural and academic exchange in countries that do not often send students abroad. CU will be hosting one student from Kyrgyzstan, one student from Tunisia and four students from Pakistan. The four Pakistani students arrived on campus today per the requirements of the scholarship program they participated in.
We are inviting you, our campus family, to reach out to these students. If you see them around campus, be sure to introduce yourself and if they have any question about campus please point them in the right direction. The CIE also has a few activities planned for them, but if anyone would like to host them for a dinner one evening that would be a great way for you to minister to these students. International Student Orientation starts on the 21st and any evening between now and then would be a prime time for you to host a dinner and help make these students’ transition a little more memorable. Please let Marcus Stanfield (firstname.lastname@example.org or ext. 5113) know if you are interested in hosting an activity for these students.
Below is a list of their names and sex:
Tanzeela BASHIR (F)
Rokhana RIAZ (F)
Humna ARRAEN (F)
Sayeed HASAAN (M)
