CU's Kentucky Heartland Institute on Public Policy (KHIPP) series final spring 2015 forum will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 5:00 p.m. in the Banquet Hall of the BASC. The subject will be on "Concerns on the Death Penalty." Mr. Marc Hyden, who is involved with Equal Justice USA/Conservatives Concerned about the Death Penalty, is our special guest for the evening. He will be discussing the growing movement that are raising concerns about the death penalty - i.e., exoneration of some who have been penalized to the death penalty as a result of DNA and other advances in technology and evidence, the high costs of appeals for those on death row, over-reach of government, disproportionate number of people of color sentenced to the death penalty, etc. Students will receive convocation credit.

Used backpack being collected for needy children
I am collecting and sending backpacks to needy children in the poorest schools in Jamaica through the Issa Trust Foundation. I was able to go to one of the schools while I was there in February and take supplies and wanted to continue to help after I got home. Tell the student body if they are getting rid of their back pack at the end of this semester (and it’s still in good condition), please drop it off at our allied health office at 119 Nancy cox Drive, Suite 3 for donation.
