There is a Work-Study workshop scheduled Monday, August 29th in the Badgett Academic Support Center for all students awarded federal work-study or institutional work-ship for the 2016-2017 school year.
Two sessions are scheduled, 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 - 2:00 p.m; students must attend one of the two sessions, be prepared to show their student ID and stay for a short presentation. Incoming students or students who are beginning work-study/work-ship for the first time must bring with them to the workshop:
- one document that verifies identity (can be student ID or drivers license)
- one document that verifies your eligibility to work in the U.S. (social security card or certified copy of their birth certificate (not a hospital copy))
- U.S. Passport
A voided check or a bank statement on bank letterhead listing their checking account number and routing number if they want their earnings direct deposited. Direct deposit is encouraged, but not required.
Students were sent post cards to their home address that is on file in the Office of Financial Aid, flyers have been given to Student Services to post in all dorm halls and lobbies and academic coaches have been notified to contact incoming student with the details of the workshop and what to bring with them.
It is very important to keep in mind students cannot work until they have attended the workshop, completed all necessary payroll documents and provided you with their Student Work Authorization.
Thank you for you help in getting these students to the workshop, completing necessary payroll documents and picking up their Student Work Authorizations so they can begin working.
If you have any questions or concerns you may reach me by email or by phone at 270-789-5208.
