CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Karen Smith, a 1981 graduate of Campbellsville University’s School of Education, knew that “Tigers!” was the right answer to the contest and won a Campbellsville University graduate school bag filled with CU-Somerset goodies at the open house at the Larry and Beverly Noe Education Center in Somerset Aug. 5.

Smith just retired from 31 years teaching math at Southwestern High School.

Dr. H. Keith Spears, Campbellsville University vice president for graduate and professional studies, presented her prize during their open house for students interested in applying for fall semester classes there or online.

“This was an exceptional evening,” Spears said. “We visited with a good cross section of the Somerset region population who are looking to move their education to a new level.

“They are looking to Campbellsville University’s spirit of servant leadership to help. And, that is why we are in Somerset.”
