Campbellsville University

Athletic Hall of Fame

Purpose:

The purpose of the Campbellsville University Athletic Hall of Fame is to recognize those persons who have demonstrated the highest standards of character and recognized athletic achievement while at Campbellsville University.  Individuals who have exhibited great leadership and direction in advancing the excellence of Campbellsville University athletics programs will also be considered as inductees.

Criteria and Procedures:

• Nominations may come from those individuals or groups interested in, and who support, Campbellsville University athletics.  Former university athletes and current supporters of the athletics program are strongly encouraged to nominate individuals for consideration as inductees into Campbellsville University’s Athletic Hall of Fame.

• Only written nominations will be considered.  The official nomination form is available by contacting the Department of Athletics at 270-789-5257 or online at campbellsville.edu/athletics/hall_fame.htm.

• The deadline for nominations will be posted 1 month prior to the selection process beginning.  Written nominations may be mailed to: Director of Athletics, Campbellsville University, 1 University Drive UPO 793, Campbellsville, KY 42718.

• Nominees who are former University athletes must have graduated or have been gone from Campbellsville University for a minimum of five years prior to being eligible for induction.  Coaches and university employees are eligible for nomination after 20 years of service, the year after retirement, or after having been gone from the university for a minimum of five years.  Each nominee should exhibit a commitment to community service and to success in their respective profession.

• Consideration will be given to those involved with Russell Creek Academy, Campbellsville Junior College, Campbellsville College and Campbellsville University.

• Both living and deceased nominees will be considered.

Selection Process:

• The selection committee will thoroughly consider all timely nominations and will determine the inductees for a given year.  Nominees that receive a majority vote from the selection committee will be inducted.  Campbellsville University is not required to annually induct individuals into the university’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
