Job Description

Overview: The Account Executive reports into the divisional AS or SAD. The primary responsibilities of the Account Executive are to manage daily divisional needs and communications campaigns on behalf of several clients. The Account Executive is responsible for executing all aspects of a Public Relations program with the AS or SAD, including drafting press materials, contributing to the strategic process and facilitating media outreach. The Account Executive should demonstrate a solution-oriented attitude, be proactive and strategic, showcase an expertise in pitching media and possess a fundamental understanding of the media landscape.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Manage the public relations needs of multiple clients on a daily basis, including participating actively in calls and in-person meetings with clients
· Oversee activities of account support team (intern, trainee, AC)
· Build relationships clients and proactively pitch media to achieve client communications objectives
· Canvass media across a variety of platforms – print, broadcast and online – for opportunities to generate exposure for clients
· Contribute to public relations campaigns from ideation to execution phase with supervision and guidance from account leads
· Research, draft and distribute press releases, pitches, media alerts, photo captions, meeting agendas and recaps, weekly and monthly status reports, PR plans, etc.
· Track editorial calendars for clients
· Collate, analyze and evaluate media coverage
· Participate in events with account teams, including helping to source strategic partners if appropriate, generating event concept and theme, sourcing vendors, facilitating event management and liaise-ing with media for pre- and post-event coverage
· Facilitate client desk sides and media tours
· Supervise the production of client testimonials and case studies for agency marketing endeavors
· Keep abreast of industry news and notes to act as a valuable resource for Travel & Real Estate team
· Excellent writer and communicator
· Demonstrates proven track record of successful media placements and facility in pitching media over email and the phone
· Proficient in AP style
· Proficient in Cision
· Working knowledge of social networks and ability to assist clients with developing strategies for them
· On-line community management experience a plus

Education and Experience:
· 2 to 4 years minimum experience in public relations
