Summary: The budget analyst assists in developing, implementing and maintaining the college budget.

Assists with the implementation and monitoring of the budget for all fund groups.
Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of college operating budgets for financial and human resource systems.
Analyzes college budget data, researches transactions/journals, and runs budget and payroll reports.
Monitors the expenditures of the annual budget in conjunction with the recurring and nonrecurring budgets.
Establishes position budgets and encumbrances and monitors vacancy credits and salary budgets.
Processes budget adjustments and ensures payroll charged are posted correctly.
Disseminates bi-monthly payroll budget reports.
Maintains payroll reports with correcting payroll journals to agree with PeopleSoft Financials reports.
Provides technical support to college office managers and division chairs for budget inquiries.
Performs assignments for the college Budget Director and the Vice President for Finance & Operations as required.
Updates Budget website and related information.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management or a related field, and one year of related experience or equivalent.
Certification as a public accountant (CPA) highly valued with accounting and budget preparation experience.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws governing accounting and Governmental Accounting Standard Board (GASB) rules and standards.
Understanding of legal and audit constraints with respect to budget concerns.
Personal and professional integrity with an emphasis on confidentiality.
