Campbellsville University Handbell Choir to give fall concert Nov. 5

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville University Handbell Choir will present its fall concert Saturday, Nov. 5 at 8 p.m. in The Gheens Recital Hall of the Gosser Fine Arts Center at 210 University Drive, Campbellsville, Ky.

Included on the program will be works by Bach, Corelli, Hopson and other contemporary composers and arrangers. Compositions will include familiar tunes as the Bach “Air” from the “Third Orchestral Suite,” the traditional French Carol “Noel Nouvelet” and the Gabriel Faure’ “Paradisium” from “Requiem.” One section of the program will include performances by a small ensemble.

Other compositions include “Interlude and Celebration” by Eugene Butler, “Adagio” by Corelli and “Joyful Praise” by Hal Hopson.

A special arrangement by Hedrick will conclude the concert “In Remembrance” by Buryl Red.

Members include Jordan Hines of Hartford, Ky.; Fern Thomas of Madisonville, Ky.; Joe Weber of Frankfort, Ky.; Amelia Herrin of Sonora, Ky.; Mary Gray of Owensboro, Ky.; Chris Williams of Columbia, Tenn.; Sarah Porter of Harrodsburg, Ky.; Jarrod Fenwick Lebanon, Ky., and Zoi Rattliff of Greensburg, Ky.

Director of the Handbell Choir is Dr. David Hedrick, assistant professor of music on the CU music faculty. He has been a faculty member for the past seven years and most recently presented cast members of the “Stephen Foster Story” in concert at the School of Music.
