Campbellsville University to Host Artshop Interviews for Governor’s School for the Arts Nov. 21
By Christina Miller, student news writer
CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.—Campbellsville University will host an ArtShop for the Governor’s School for the Arts, Saturday, Nov. 21.
ArtShops serve as a preliminary to the Governor’s School for the Arts. Students present their work to an interview committee, which selects students who are invited to the school’s summer program.
ArtShops offer high school students the opportunity to learn under experienced professional artists/educators. Students can grow and explore as creative artists, learning new and exciting ways to express themselves and build confidence.
ArtShops also allow freshmen, sophomores and juniors in high school the chance to spend the day with other student artists and learn more about the Governor’s School for the Arts summer program. Students will also receive professional feedback through a practice audition or review of the student’s work.
Students may register for one class per ArtShop. Classes include: architecture, creative writing, dance, drama, musical theatre, new media, visual art, vocal music and instrumental music. Governor’s School for the Arts accepts 15-25 students per class at each ArtShop.
To register for the ArtShop at Campbellsville University or for more information on the Governor’s School for the Arts, visit www.kentuckygsa.org. On Nov. 21, registration for the event begins at 9:30 a.m. and the workshops end at 4 p.m.
