Campbellsville University’s Orchestra to present concert Oct. 6

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville University Orchestra will present its first concert of the semester Thursday, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. in the Ransdell Chapel on the campus of Campbellsville University at 401 N. Hoskins Ave.

The concert is free and open to the public.

Dr. J. Robert Gaddis, dean of the School of Music, will conduct along with Wansoo Cho, instructor in music, associate conductor.

The program consists of both familiar and less familiar literature including Beethoven’s Symphony #5, 1st Movement, Glinka’s Ruslan and Lyudmilla, Respighi’s Ancient Airs and Dances, Massenet’s Scenes Pittoresques, and Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite.

Members of the orchestra include: violin – Saelim Henderson, concertmaster, of Seoul, South Korea; Taylor Campbell and Courtney Gilbert, both of Hodgenville, Ky.; Madeira Curry and Mary Tress Eastham, both of Greensburg, Ky.; Garth Kauffman and Caitlin Watson, both of Campbellsville;

Seunghwa Han and Chanmi Jeong, both of Busan, South Korea; Carri Hunt of Mt. Vernon, Ky.; Guang Jin of Yanji, China; Ching-Hao Lin of Kaohsing, Taiwan; and Hannah Thompson of Cincinnati, Ohio;

Viola – Roger Noel Davis of Campbellsville; Sarah Gilbert of Hodgenville, Ky.; Katie Johnson of Leitchfield, Ky.; Denis Santos of Ceara, Brazil; and Brandi Wisner of Louisville;

Cello – Adrienne Gilbert of Hodgenville; and Seth Johnson of Leitchfield; double bass – Leonardo Barros of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and Julie Caldwell, secretary for special projects at Campbellsville University;

Flute – Rachel Cain of Corbin, Ky.; Sunghye Kim of Busan, South Korea; and Abby Lanham of Lebanon, Ky.; oboe – Carrie Wohlschlegel of Shepherdsville, Ky.; and Dongseok Yu of Busan, South Korea;

Clarinet – Seungbin Hwang of Seoul, South Korea; and Gwanhee Park of Busan, South Korea; bassoon – Dana Etherington of Somerset, Ky.; Madeline Hahn of Cox’s Creek; and Pei-Ju Lai of Tainan, Taiwan; Horn – Wooyoung Choi of Busan, South Korea; Jarrod and Tyler Fenwick, both of Lebanon; and Bobbie Jo Sturm of Glasgow, Ky.;
