With 669 non-duplicating students, Campbellsville University has set a new record for students enrolled in summer classes, according to an announcement from Dr. Michael V. Carter, president of Campbellsville University.
Carter said, “Summer school 2010 has been very successful with 669 non-duplicating students – an all-time record for summer classes for Campbellsville University. We appreciate the hard work of Dr. Frank Cheatham, vice president for academic affairs, and the faculty for developing the variety of classes that students need. CU summer school offers our students, as well as visiting students in the region, to complete several academic hours at very affordable costs and to advance in their educational career.”
In 2009, Campbellsville University had 610 students enrolled in summer school.
Dave Walters, vice president for admissions and student services, said, summer school is the end result of a lot of hard work. “Each and every year several administrative areas work together to provide more class options as well as communicating this opportunity for a summer education experience.”
“Summer school is a great way for students to accomplish their education goals sooner than they anticipated,” Walters said. “The class schedule and format allows the student to focus in on a particular area of study that they would like to complete with less distraction.”
Not only do taking summer classes allow for students to get ahead, but it also reduces the cost.
“Students are noticing the economic value and how a few summer school classes each year can significantly reduce their overall education costs,” Walters said.
Summer classes at Campbellsville University are only $285 per credit hour.
